Eve has more than fifteen years’ experience in writing and editing. Prior to setting up Westcoasting in 2011, she was Communications Manager at the University of Bristol for seven years where she edited the alumni magazine. She did other stuff too, like develop a visual identity, write fundraising material and manage a website. She took a sabbatical year in 2009 to work with Voluntary Service Overseas in Sri Lanka, where she worked with local staff to develop their skills and capacity in communications.
In her earlier years she worked as a fundraiser, campaigner and communicator for a number of charities. So she’s written a fair few annual reports, direct mail letters and newsletters in her time.
She has tonnes of online experience. Writing, rewriting, sharpening and optimising content for websites and blogs is one of her specialist areas. She edits a number of tourism websites, including Argyll’s Secret Coast and Explore Argyll.
Mark has built his career around the craft of editing. He obtained a language and media degree and started out as a newspaper reporter in Carlisle, before moving to London where he worked in sub-editing and editing roles in the corporate world. He relocated to Scotland 20 years ago since when, while retaining a base in Glasgow, he has worked as an editor for major multinationals in the UK and abroad, including General Motors, Swissair and British Energy (forerunner of EdF Energy).
